Chetwynd Barracks, Chilwell
Chetwynd Barracks in Chilwell, Nottinghamshire is home to the Reserves Training and Mobilisation Centre (RTMC). It prepares all branches of the Reserve Forces as well as some Regulars and civilians for service with the Regular Forces, either for deployment into an operational theatre or for commitment to a peacetime attachment. As well as being the organisation that helps prepare reservists for active service the RTMC have a part to play in welcoming the troops back into the UK and helping them return to their civilian lives, a process that also includes mental health welfare.
Chetywnd Barracks is approximately 7 miles from the City of Nottingham and 3 miles (approx) from J25 on M1. The towns of Long Eaton and Beeston are approx 2 miles away in different directions. Both of these towns have good local shops and all the usual banks and building societies.
The 20-Twenty Club and Colours Restaurant provide the main focus of Catering and Leisure within the barracks. The 20-Twenty Club also has a cash machine inside the building. (charge payable) There is a Gymnasium and an Army Learning Centre/Library that has Internet Access.
